I have done extensive research into electronic wireless cam and audio detection equipment recently in persuite of the location of cams that I suspect my "problem" rural neighbors have placed in thickly wooded rural area surrounding my home in order to reek havock on my deer hunting and to nib into my familys daily routines. As previously stated, there are several options available to locate wireless cams on Ebay and other quality electronic gadget security sites online. My problem was and still is my familys financial situation is not the best and the handheld units that I have found that are of the quality that I could justify purchasing are in the $600 range. Also, when you are searching these devices, their are significant differrences in the range that they will detect the hidden devices and the frequences that will be detected. One unit I am highly interested in purchasing is at that $600 dollar price range, detects a wide range of radio frequences and has a detection range I believe was under 100 yards, has a built in display that will actually show you the image that their cam is sending to their computers.I have a situation here where the ability to view my home is being used in coordination with intimidation tactics and "drive bys" immidiately after I emerge from my home.I have made my suspicions clear to my landlord and top local law inforcement in the area. The draw backs I ran into were that I was actually asked and suspected of having an actual "mental paranoia" and that these "things" surely were not really occurring.I think that I finally got past those bridges,at least with my landlord and he finally realizes my suspicions are well founded. My family is like many and we struggle at times to pay the every day bills and justifying a hy tec device for $600 that "might" find a cam has not been possible yet, unfortunately.I am still researching the pros and cons of detection equipment available to the general public at this moment. In your situation, you appear to be concerned about a device that may be hidden indoors. There is a detector offered that runs about $100.It uses several lights arranged in a circle that you look through in a hand held device and scan the suspected area. The company commented that the device will locate cams by detecting the lenses, whether the cam was turned on or not, within like 10 yards. That distance is not practical for my situation where I am talking about searching acreage, but may work ok for you indoors.Good Luck in your ventures to resolve your situation. And I always try to stick with my gut instinct when I feel I am justified. If its any consulation to you,the local sheriff made the suggestion I seek mental evaluation when I expressed my concerns.I think this situation will become more and more common as we become more and more advanced in technologies. In my opinion,it all boils down to Hy tech bullying.
References :
General information found online researching multiple sites

Spying on someone. It's illegal even if you are working for the government and/or its employee conducts any kind of unauthorized and/or authorize by her/his superior without any clarification and/or without probable cause the subject, in terms of the one who you want to tail or want to invade her/his private life, with or without her/his approval and/or prior knowledge. Any form/s of invading/invasion of privacy one life well being is/are unethical, unless you do have enough and/or significant evidence the subject is posed a danger to society and/or national security. Whichever ways you like to look at it.

Yeh, it's still illegal no matter what per constitutional bill of rights revised or not Everyone is entitled to her/his privacy. Privacy acts and laws is/are served to protect such unlawful act. Anyone is practicing such act subject to fine, discharge from service, imprisonment. Ear dropping or big brother watching without a person knowledge and/or approval is considered unlawful. With a good lawyers team, you will lose the case under any court or jurisdiction or level of court, local, state or federal if the plaintiff decides to file a lawsuit on your behinds. It is a high crime with severe punishment. Don't play the game you know you will lose in court. Even top notch US officials don't dare to apply such act, the chance they will lose in a civil's lawsuit is greater than its worth............!
