I have CCTV at home, whats the best way to view the cameras via a laptop any where in the world?
I have bought myself CCTV for my property and want to be able to view the immages via my laptop.
Do I need to connect these cameras to a main computer or is there another way? also would I have to set up a web site to view the immages or is there a piece of kit?
It depends on the cctv recording system you are using.
If you are using analog cameras and recording footage using a DVR (digital video recorder), your DVR will probably have a web server or you should have been supplied with a remote viewing software disk. If you are recording it on to your computer using a capture card it most likely will have remote viewing software with it, If the above scenario is what you are using then you will only need your internet connection properly configured on your DVR and software installed on your laptop.
If you are using IP cameras, usually most reasonable quality IP cameras have web servers built in them and all they require is internet connection for you to view it from anywhere.
I work in this industry (not in the US) and if you need an advice you can contact me via my personal site.

Does TinFoil realy Distort CCTV cams and if yes , what is the science behind it?
i stumbled upon an article about cctv cameras and someone had left a comment about wearing tinfoil to distort cameras.
Firstly does this actually work?
and if yes , how does it .surely cctv cameras don’t give out a strong enough light for the tinfoil to reflect back ?
im fascinated to be honest
and does it matter if it’s an indoor camera ,street camera, is it specific type of cameras ?
1. Only if the glare of reflected light from the foil blinds the camera lens.
2. Cameras don’t give out light, they collect it. They are not "spot lights" that capture images…the light coming in is the image.
3. The whole foil thing relates to radio wave frequency…microwaves, if you will. Radar, radio, and other "signals" can be interfered with by the use of certain length materials (remember, length can be "width" too.) In WWII it was found that "chaff’ strips dropped from planes of a certain size jumbled the signals so they could not be read by the enemy. Lead lined plates block radiation for another example, like at the doctor’s office or dentist…Tin foil has little to impact on microwaves, but in a microwave oven it changes the dispersal enough to cause a fire, it will cause glare, make it look like you have a suspicious plant growing operation, and affect your future social contacts. It won’t prevent speeding tickets, but you may be the center of talk. I really like the posted helmet idea…classy, but so are Mickey Mouse ears…
Can anyone help me with a pinhole camera?
I’m trying to make a pinhole camera using 110 film so that I don’t have to develop it myself. Does any one have instructions on how to build it. Or even any tips that might help me?
This is for a school project, so I can’t just go buy a camera. I have to build it.
My teacher told us 110 film was the best to use so I ordered it online.
I assumed any photography store would develope it.
I take it they won’t?
Go to the spystore
www.thespystore.com
Get a real pinhole camera(wireless)
About 350 bucks
What are your experiences with Nanny-Cams?
Have you had one?
Do you know someone who had one?
What do you like/dislike about them?
I went away for a long time because of those things.
